Cuban
Methodism
The Untold Story of Survival and Revival
Dr. Philip D. Wingeier-Rayo
former
United Methodist missionary
Missionary-in-Residence and professor at Pfeiffer University
REVISED
EDITION
edited and designed by Stephen Wing

As the first Protestant missionary to enter Cuba since President Kennedy broke off diplomatic relations in 1961, Dr. Wingeier-Rayo is uniquely qualified to comment on today's Cuban church. Under the auspices of the United Methodist Church, he and his family accompanied the Cuban people through such life-transforming events as the collapse of the Soviet Union, the tightening U.S. embargo, the Cuban rafting crisis, and the visit of the Pope. This book tells of his experiences during their six years in the country, including interviews with Cuban bishops and meetings with Fidel Castro— and a massive revival movement in the Cuban church, which he compares to the experience of John Wesley in the early days of Methodism in England.
